Summer Class 2021

We have an exciting opportunity for those who have a thirst for knowledge. Join our unique summer short classes! Although these classes take place at the same venue as our regular workshops, they offer a distinct learning experience. Our summer classes follow a different structure and provide an in-depth exploration of specific subjects. These classes are conducted on weekdays and delve deep into various topics. While they vary in duration, most sessions last only an hour or two. However, some classes are progressive and each session builds upon the previous one. Typically, each class consists of just 4 sessions. Not only are these classes engaging and educational, but they also ensure that you leave with more knowledge than you came in with!

2021 Summer Classes

Arduino is offering classes that will be presented by Caz Bowyer.

In order to participate in the Arduino Uno micro-controller classes, a *Windows laptop* is necessary for participants to code their Arduino using C++. To prepare for the class, the Arduino IDE Software can be downloaded in advance from this link: https://www.arduino.cc/en/main/software.  The First SessionOn July 6th, the focus will be on configuring the software and settings to ensure that everyone can effectively program their Arduino board, enabling them to perform tasks such as LED blinking and DC motor control. Moving forward, the subsequent classes will delve into the process of actual construction. Session 2the construction of a ferris wheel equipped with a stepper motor and push buttons will soon be completed, Session 3the end, it will consist of a mechanical limb controlled by a servo motor and potentiometer input. Additionally, it will feature Session 4 Do you want to discover how to construct a catapult equipped with a range sensor? Look no further! Caz, an extraordinary companion and renowned presenter at our store, will guide you through the process. With her vast experience and passion for micro-controllers, she is eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with you!

*This course mandates the use of a Windows laptop. The fee for this course is $20 per individual, and the total cost of the required items, if bought individually from the store, will be under $80 (The instructor will provide guidance on which specific parts to purchase before every class).

Guitar Pedal Lessons - Hosted by Matt Wilson

Physics teacher, Matt Wilson, will be providing instruction on guitar pedal construction during these classes! Learn about their inner workings and have the opportunity to assemble your very own pedal from scratch right here in the store. Matt will even bring some of his own parts for participants to borrow. However, if you prefer, you can purchase your own components on-site to build a truly personalized pedal.
